What (who) is AVLsherpa?

The journey continues...

Welcome to AVLsherpa!

After 35 years of "life in the big city" I decided to slow down a bit. So, in 2023, I moved from ATL to AVL. Like many who live here, I chose Asheville because of its natural beauty and laid-back lifestyle. The people here seem genuine. The town, itself, is refreshingly approachable.

In 2015, I wrapped up a 30-year career in the wealth management industry.

After that, I became a tour guide. Between 2015 and 2022, I designed and led 300+ walking tours throughout Atlanta. I also created a series of websites to help residents and visitors connect with Atlanta's past, present and future. 

While I won’t be doing any walking tours of Asheville anytime soon, I thought it would be helpful to record my adventures and experiences as I get to know Asheville and the surrounding areas.
